Today we are demonstrating how to set up a body shot in Sanda. As is the case with any technique in Sanda kickboxing, footwork is going to be critical here. Turn to your left and step to the upper corner to slip an incoming strike. Once you’re off the centerline you shuffle the back leg to the front and turn sharp to your right as you kick your left leg back to put you at a 90° position from your start, into a switch stance. Hip control and weight shift/stability can be the difficult elements to lock in correctly. Stay relaxed and move smooth into position before firing off that right hand.
